New Micro Machines now due to land next month

Codemasters and Koch Media have announced a new release date for Micro Machines World Tour Series.

That game formerly had an April 21st release date. That was missed, obviously, and now the game is due out on PS4, Xbox One and PC on June 23rd.

The game features 12 vehicles along with a selection of recognisable and new tracks. There’s some Nerf branding thrown in too, along with a few other Hasbro-themed brands and locations, including Hungry Hippos and GI Joe.

Most importantly the game will also feature the voice talent of Brian Blessed, who serves as commentator.

For the first time in a Micro Machines game, every car has its own entirely distinct personality… and arsenal,” chief game designer Gavin Cooper said. Each gives players a different way to play and enjoy the game, meaning fans of the series will have plenty to sink their teeth into.”

Players will quickly gain an affinity with a particular vehicle and find it suits their style of play. You can master one vehicle collecting all the 25+ customisations, but then have a whole host of variety choosing and mastering all the other vehicles in the game”.

Codemasters’ VP of publishing Jonathan Bunney added: The original Micro Machines was a breakthrough multiplayer racing game and remains much loved in the gaming community. We saw great success earlier this year with our free-to-play mobile game but this brand new console title takes the franchise to its greatest levels of multiplayer mayhem and enables you to play with your friends on the same sofa or across the world.”

Whether you’ve been playing Micro Machines since the early days or are new to the craziness of racing and battling vehicles across household environments, this incredibly fun experience is a welcome break from all the serious multiplayer alternatives.”
