New video games radio shows debut over Christmas

Two one-off video game radio shows will debut this Christmas on Kerrang! Radio.

The rock station has teamed up with IGN for the hour-long shows, which will be broadcast on Kerrang! Radio on Sunday, December 29th and Sunday, January 5th.

Under the catchy banner of The Kerrang! Radio and IGN.com Gaming Show, the first show focuses on the next-gen showdown between PS4 and Xbox One, while the second programme looks ahead to the games of 2014.

Alex Baker, Presenter of the Kerrang Radio! and IGN Gaming Show specials, said: We’re hugely excited about these gaming specials, as they bring something very different to our festive schedule,” said Alex Baker, who will present the two shows.

Our listeners, bands, and presenters are gamers and there’s always great feedback when IGN joins us on-air. These shows will be great for gamers, uniting IGN’s gaming knowledge with listener input and some great tunes.”

Alex Simmons, Editor-in-Chief, IGN.com, added: Together, we’ve modernised how games are covered on the radio and these specials feel like the perfect way to round off our year. Gaming is a massive part of the Christmas holidays for their listeners and our readers – so it’ll be an exciting experiment, particularly if they let me choose some music!”
