PS4 slips behind PS3 in Japan

The PlayStation 3 trumped the PS4 this week in Japan according weekly chart data provided by Famitsu.

This was no doubt helped by sales of PS3 titles Watch Dogs, Kamen Rider Battride War II and Grand Theft Auto V in the software Top Ten this week.

Sales of the Wii U fell this week, too. Nearly fewer 1,000 units were sold in this time, but it is still ahead of both of Sony’s home consoles. Mario Kart 8 sales fell by 4142 units this week, but Nintendo’s racing title rose up the charts from eight place to No.4.

But it is the 3DS that is the best selling hardware this week, reclaiming the No.1 spot from the Vita.

No new games were released for the handheld, but there are a number of 3DS titles in the charts this week, including last week’s newcomer Taiko no Tatsujin and Yokai Watch.
