Publishers rush to October MCM Expo

Seven leading video games publishers have already signed up for MCM Expo.

Firms that will be exhibiting at the October show include Nintendo, EA, Ubisoft, Capcom, Namco Bandai, Tecmo Koei and Rising Star.

MCM Expo’s organisers are also hoping to sign up new publishers that have not attended before.

We are delighted to see so many publishers returning to our October event,” MCM Expo’s marketing director Bryan Cooney told MCV. The industry is seeing the value in reaching our consumers.

We give publishers a chance to reach out to a wide but very interested audience. 93 per cent of our consumers are below the age of 30, owning multiple platforms and spending over 100 a year on games.

Given these facts, it’s easy to see why we are valued as a springboard for new technology and titles especially for the busy Q4 period.”

These publishers will be exhibiting some of the biggest titles due out this Christmas, including Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Medal of Honor, Marvel Vs Capcom 3, Dead Space 2, and Enslaved.

Some titles will even be playable well ahead of their release, such as Dead Space 2 and Marvel Vs Capcom 3. Some companies will use the expo to maintain hype generated by international trade shows.

Tecmo Koei’s VP of sales and marketing Will Curley said: London’s MCM Expo is a key date for Tecmo Koei fans.

The October Expo is always well placed for us as it’s just after Tokyo Game Show. We will bring a little of the Tokyo spirit to London, with game demos straight from the TGS show floor.”

MCM Expo takes place at London’s ExCeL from Friday, October 29th to Sunday, October 31st.
