Report: Game of Thrones title in the works at Telltale

Telltale is reportedly developing a new game based on either George R.R. Martin’s fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire or the hit HBO show based on it, Game of Thrones.

IGN cities multiple reliable” sources claiming that the studio that crafted a critically-acclaimed episodic graphic adventurebased on Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comic book series has now turned its attention to Martin’s popular works.

Which version (book series or show) of the epic tale the alleged game will be based on hasn’t been made clear yet. It also wasn’t mentioned if the game’s story will strictly follow the established plot lines, or instead look to create an original effort based on Martin’s lore.

Polygon’s takepoints to a recent Reddit post where Telltale’s Dan Connors states that the developer is "working on a few licenses that definitely fall into our dream IP scenario and we can’t wait to announce those."

When approached about the report, a Telltale rep stated the studio had no comment at this time.

"We get these sorts of rumors about what we could be working on next cropping up all the time. Officially we have no comment."
