Samsung partners with Xbox One X for exclusive US marketing and retail deal

The US branch of Samsung is teaming up with Xbox for an exclusive marketing and retail partnership around the Xbox One X, the electronics manufacturer has announced.

The deal will see Samsung’s flagship line of QLED TVs become the official 4K TV partner for the console, allowing gamers to experience both products in tandem at various Xbox and Samsung marketing and retail activations throughout the US. Consumers will also see a custom Samsung TV spot showcasing the Xbox One X and QLED TVs together, which will run nationally around the console’s launch in November.

The arrival of true 4K UHD gameplay on Xbox One X this Fall gives gamers the perfect reason to upgrade their television,”said Eddie Combs, VP of marketing for Samsung Electronics America.

If gamers are looking for a TV that delivers premium 4K HDR picture quality with industry leading design and smart functionality, then the QLED TV and Xbox One X are an unbeatable 4K gaming combination.”

Mike Nichols, corporate VP and chief marketing officer for Xbox added:Xbox One X will bring true 4K gaming to console players for the first time with 40 per cent more power than any other console.Samsung’s QLED 4K TV is our favourite way to play Xbox One X, and we’re thrilled to join forces with Samsung in the U.S. to deliver immersive 4K gaming experiences to our fans.”

The partnership originally kicked off at this year’s E3, with Samsung’s QLED TVs being the display of choice for gamers going hands on with the Xbox One X for the first time ever.

In case you’re unfamiliar with Samsung’s new line-up of TVs, the firms’ QLED models utilise its ‘Quantum Dot’ LED technology, which Samsung says allows for higher colour accuracy and a higher colour volume, deeper blacks and higher levels of contrast. These TVs also come with a lifetime guarantee against burn-in, and a special Game Mode that automatically optimises the TV for both video and sound quality.
