Scotland to host first Develop Live event

A brand new conference for games developers is coming to Scotland later this year, organised by the team behind Develop.

Develop Live will come to Edinburgh on Thursday, October 2nd. This one-day conference will comprise of a series of lectures and panels covering both international issues and matters close to the vibrant Scottish games development sector.

On-stage content will be curated by the editorial team, making this the first event of its type brought to you by the people behind Develop’s monthly print magazine and its popular website.

While we’re planning our own surprises for the day, a call for speakers has also been opened. To find out how to submit a talk proposal, email developlive@intentmedia.co.uk.

The full schedule and other details about the inaugural Develop Livewill be announced in the coming months.

Scotland is home to both some of the world’s biggest and most commercially powerful studios and some of its most innovative, forward-thinking developers,” said Develop publisher Michael French. It’s about time they had a global games development event on their doorstep.”

Editor James Batchelor added: Develop Live will be a place to share ideas and insight, whether that’s about immediate matters like game funding and tax breaks or deeper issues around content and creativity – just like the Develop website and magazine is.

We’re looking forward to sharing details of the first confirmed speakers very soon and unveiling our keynote sessions.”

Tickets cost 149, and competitive sponsorship packages are available.
