Sony pulls latest PS Vita firmware update

Sony has removed the new software update for PlayStation Vita temporarily due to a technical hitch.

PS Vita owners who already downloaded the patch before it was removed will be able to continue using the handheld as normal.

Sony says it will notify customers once the latest system software update is available to download again.

Update 1.65 makes several changes to Vita’s user interface, including the ability for users to disable notification messages when friends sign in. Owners will also be able to set Vita to go into Auto Standby mode after ten minutes of inactivity, and Caps Lock will be supported by the on-screen keyboard.

PS Vita went on sale on February 22nd. Sony has just launched a 1.5m Easter marketing campaign to re-promote the handheld.
