Sony warns of possible European PS4 shortage

There may be a shortage of PS4 consoles in some European countries over the remainder of the holiday period.

That’s according to Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House, who told Reuters that Europe I think it is potentially, for the second year running, going to be quite inventory challenged”.

He added: "I’m not going to say you won’t be able to find a PlayStation 4. I think it’s going to be kind of hand to mouth in terms of that market."

The situation is different in the US, however, where sales have been in line with expectations and the large Xbox One discounts offered by rival Microsoft have made the market tougher” for PS4.

In Japan, however, House said that the entire home console market remains challenged”.
