Spencer hints at Quantum Break release date announcement tomorrow

It looks as if a release date for Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break could be announced at Microsoft’s Gamescom 2015 press briefing tomorrow.

When asked on Twitter whether Gamescom will deliver a firm” release date for the game, Xbox boss Phil Spencer replied: "You’ll see on Tuesday. I think you’ll be happy."

Remedy’s title had originally been scheduled for a release in 2015, but was in April pushed back to some time in 2016.

Microsoft has previously said that Quantum Break will feature at Gamescom alongside Crackdown and Scalebound, along with what it described as new game reveals for both Xbox One and Windows 10”.

It has also promised surprises” for the show, having held back some stuff from E3 – both due to the fact that Gamescom and E3 are taking place just seven weeks apart this year, and also because Sony has chosen against holding a briefing at the German event, giving Microsoft the chance tos teal all the headlines.

Microsoft’s Gamescom 2015 press briefing takes place tomorrow (August 4th) at 3pm UK time. You’ll be able to watch it here on MCV. We’ll also be posting all of the big news as it happens.
