SSFIV 3D ships 1m units

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition has shipped 1m copies worldwide since the 3DS’ launch on March 25th.

The game – published by Capcom and distributed by Nintendo in Europe and Australia – has been one of the best-selling 3DS games in the UK. It debuted at No.4 in the GfK Chart-Track Top 40 software chart.

The popular Street Fighter series has shipped more than 31m units worldwide overall. It first hit arcades in 1987 before Street Fighter II became a hit on consoles in the early ‘90s.

A Capcom statement sent to Go Nintendo read: In capturing both new fans and longtime fans of the series, we were able to reach the one million unit mark for this title.

As always, we at Capcom will continue to pursue our ‘single content multiple usage’ strategy by making advancements on new hardware to maximise sales, while leveraging our brands to bring maximum satisfaction to as many of our users as possible.”

Capcom has several titles in development for the Nintendo 3DS including Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D, Resident Evil: Revelations and Mega Man Legends 3.
