Syndicate successor Satellite Reign arrives on Steam Early Access

Having reached its Kickstarter targets last summer, Satellite Reign is now available on Steam.

The 20.69 download (temporarily down from its full price of 22.99) is quite limited in scope for the time being, hence its release as an Early Access title. It includes four player agent classes, some upgrades and destructible cover.

The game has been sold as a spiritual successor to cult action strategy title Syndicate Wars, and now nearly a year and a half after it was successfully funded the game is available to buy.

In the end the game, which is being made by former Bullfrog developer Mike Diskett, raised 460k (or 475k when you add in PayPal contributions) – comfortably in excess of its 350k target.

The next step is to get feedback from players on which systems they like, and what needs improvement,” the studio said. We’ve started this with our Pre-Alpha Access phases from our Kickstarter, but it’s now time to start hearing from more voices.

We plan to launch Satellite Reign in its entirety in the first half of 2015. However, we plan to continue updating the title after the full release.”
