Twitch will represent TSM and Cloud9 in sponsorship sales

Streaming platform Twitch has announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with both Team SoloMid and Cloud 9 to collaborate on many areas related to sponsorship and sales.

According to the press release Twitch will now represent both teams in “sponsorship sales and [will] further fuel the growth of esports.” Twitch will also try to build relationships with brands outside of gaming to “expand the horizons of sponsorship revenue,” which should hopefully lead to a more stable scene thanks to more big brand sponsorships.

Over recent months more and more major non-endemic brands have sponsored eSports teams and events. With the new partnership Twitch is hoping to secure more of those brands as sponsors for TSM and C9.

The new partnership will also see Twitch remain as the official streaming platform for both organisations.

“Twitch’s goal is to continually expand growth and revenue opportunities for our content creators, the true drivers of community creation,” said Kevin Lin, COO of Twitch. “Our partnership with TSM and Cloud9 is long-standing and has helped pro players thrive in a growing live media ecosystem. This expanded partnership will also improve the overall health of the esports industry by providing more opportunities for players through long-term support in a more sustainable ecosystem.”

“We’re thrilled Twitch will be representing TSM for future sponsorships. Our combined reach and expertise is an unbeatable brand-safe offering for companies looking to enter the esports space. This will allow us to focus on developing long-term careers for our players and creating content for our fans,” said Andy Dinh, CEO and Founder of TSM.

"We are excited to expand our relationship with Twitch to provide the best experience for viewers and players," said Jack Etienne, CEO and Founder of Cloud9. "Uniting Twitch’s media and our direct engagement will delight our clients and viewers in new and innovative ways. We’re eager to use these opportunities to create more value for our players and fans."
