Valkyria Chronicles IV and remaster headed to PS4

Sega’s cult hit RPG Valkyria Chronicles is getting a brand new instalment on PS4 – as well as a remake of the first game in the series.

Valkyria Chronicles IV: Valkyria of the Blue Revolution will be the first new instalment in the popular tactical role-playing series since 2011’s Valkyria Chronicles III – although the latter game was only ever released in Japan.

The last entry in the franchise to make it to Western shores was the 2010 PSP title Valkyria Chronicles II.

Valkyria Chronicles IV was revealed in the latest issue of Japanese games magazine Famitsu (via Kotaku), alongside a remake of the first self-titled game in the series from 2008 for PS4.

The original Valkyria Chronicles came to Steam last year, and has since sold more than half a million copies on the platform, according to Steam Spy.

Both Valkyria Chronicles IV and the Valkyria Chronicles remaster are in development, Sega confirmed – but declined to provide a release date for either title.
