Valve approves 100 Greenlight games for Steam

Valve has approved a stout 100 indie titles for release on Steam through its Greenlight program.

The digital distributor explained in a post on its official news feed that the large number of approvals are part of a plan to run a stress-test on its improved and streamlined developer tools.

Valve points out that it likely won’t be approving this many games at a time moving forward, but that approvals will increase overall if the test goes well.

This latest milestone is both a celebration of the progress we’ve made behind the scenes and a stress test of our systems. Future batches are not likely to be as large, but if everything goes smoothly we should be able to continue increasing the throughput of games from Greenlight to the Steam store.”

The 100 approved games, which can be viewed here, bring the total number of Greenlight games with Steam publishing agreements up to 260.
