VIDEO: Bethesda announces free-to-play multiplayer combat title Battlecry

Bethesda has announced that Battlecry Studios is making a game called… Battlecry.

It’s described as an all-new multiplayer action combat game featuring fast-paced and frenetic 32-player battles” and will be free-to-play. It’s the studio’s first title since its formation in 2012.

The visual design is being headed by Half-Life 2 and Dishonored veteran Viktor Antonov with the action set in a world where gunpowder has been banned following a brutal world war. The result? Wars are decided by people hitting and stabbing each other.

"The BattleCry team is happy to unveil the game that bears our studio’s name," BattleCry Studios’ president and executive producer Rich Vogel said. "We have been hard at work to create a fresh experience for gamers that brings together multiplayer action with visually stunning combat.”

The game is due out on PC in 2015.
