Weird Al Yankovic to play the Blizzcon closing ceremony

The biggest weekend in the world of Blizzard eSports is almost upon us, and now we know that Weird Al Yankovic will be closing out the show.

The closing ceremony of Blizzcon 2016 will feature a live performance from parody artist Weird Al Yankovic. Weird Al will take to the stage on Sunday November 5th to round out the weekend.

We’re super excited to close out our tenth BlizzCon with a performance from an epic showman—and fellow geek,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. Weird Al has entertained millions of people around the world with his hilarious music, and we’re thrilled that he’s bringing mandatory fun to the show and everyone following along with a Virtual Ticket.”

I’m very excited to be playing at BlizzCon,” said Weird Al, because it’ll be one of the few times in my life where a significant percentage of the audience is even nerdier than I am!”

Of course Weird Al is just one of the highlights of the weekend, with the Hearthstone World Championship, the Heroes of the Storm World Championship, the StarCraft II World Championship and the new Overwatch World Cup being the main draws for eSports fans. Elsewhere there will be a ton of panels from Blizzard devs and of course the opening keynote that should show us a glimpse into Blizzard’s future projects.
