Xbox One PAL TV stutter fix on the way

Microsoft has said a fix to the Xbox One’s TV video stutter in Europe is just weeks away.

It was revealed in November that users attempting to watch PAL TV through their consoles were experiencing judder caused by the difference between the machine’s 60Hz output and the 50Hz picture broadcast in Europe.

A workaround that forces the Xbox One into outputting at 50Hz is available, although at the cost of lessening its gaming performance without manually switching each time – and affecting its multitasking functionality.

"I can’t give you a specific date today, but I can tell you definitely that that issue will be resolved within a matter of weeks as one of the updates that we make to the console," Xbox UK marketing boss Harvey Eagle told CVG.

"I’m happy to confirm that that will be spring time frame. I can’t be more specific than that, but it’s weeks, not months. It’s important and we’re excited to get that fixed as quickly as possible."
