Xbox One, PS4 sell out at Amazon

Online retail giant Amazon has sold its entire launch day allocation for both next-generation consoles.

The firm is still taking pre-orders for both Xbox One and PS4 but can no longer guarantee customers will receive their chosen console at launch.

Amazon is hoping to receive more launch day stock.

"After a crazy and exciting month, we’ve sold through our initial allocations of PS4 and Xbox One," the retailer posted on Facebook (via OPM).

"We have the Standard Editions for both consoles still available, but we can’t guarantee these at release."

The news follows similar reports from GameStop, which stopped taking pre-orders for Xbox One when it sold out of its own allocation, doing the same for PS4 a few days ago.
