Luke Reilly, editor and mainstay of Australian Official Playstation Magazine for 8 years, jumped ship to yesterday become the games editor at IGN Australia.
Reilly told MCV: "It’s with much sadness I leave a magazine I’ve been some part of since late 2003. It’s actually over 90 issues, from freelancer to editor and every position in between.”
"I’m still having an incredible amount of fun as editor of Official PlayStation Magazine. Readership is up, we’ve got a lot of cool stuff already planned for the rest of the year and we’ve got an absolutely incredible team. It’s a good place to be, but I simply couldn’t let the opportunity to work at IGN pass me by."
Cam Shea, IGN Australia senior editor, said: "Luke’s wealth of experience, passion for gaming and editorial, and dashing good looks make him the perfect fit for the games editor role, and his addition to the team will give us the resources to focus even more on what we love: producing great content."
Reilly concluded: "They’re a great crew of blokes and I’m very excited to join them. I’m looking forward to putting the days of long-lead print deadlines behind me.”
