Five PC and mobile titles focused on narrative with budgets of between £2,000 and £20,000 to be supported by Sunless Sea studio

Failbetter announces first results of Fundbetter publishing initiative

UK developer Failbetter Games has revealed the first fruits of its Fundbetter initiative.

The programme was launched in February as a way of incubating narrative-driven titles, in line with the studio’s own releases Fallen London and Sunless Sea.

Five games make up the initial roster of successful projects, each expected to cost between £2,000 and £20,000 and release this autumn.

The titles are: Bruno Dias’ Voyageur, Marshlight Software’s The Edgelands, Universal Happymaker’s Astronaut: The Best, Nate Crowley’s Big Mike’s Lunchtime’s Business Training ’95 and Games by Play Date’s Hearts Blazing.

Release platforms for the games span PC and mobile, while the titles themselves include genres such as RPG, adventure, strategy and card game.

Failbetter added that Fundbetter would continue, with the next round of applications set to close on July 4th.
