Techland announces Pure Farming 17: The Simulator

Look, we’ll be honest – we’re fairly certain this is real, but we are double-checking [UPDATE: It is!].

Techland announced in June that it was stepping up its global publishing business. It revealed a publishing deal for inXile’s Torment: Tides of Numenera shortly after, and has now announced a second game. It’s called Pure Farming 17: The Simulator.

The company promises that its title will take what you may be surprised to hear is actually a really successful and growing genre and make it into something even bigger. It’s being developed by indie studio Ice Flames.

We realise there are a lot of farming sims out there already, but the more we looked the more we realized they all seemed to fall short on certain features or ideas that are actually integral in real farming,” Pure Farming lead and Techland producer Kornel Jaskula said.

And the fans have been saying this for years, telling developers what they would love to see included. With Pure Farming, we’re aiming to be the ones who deliver on what has been missing all these years.”

Kudos, too, to the title of the press release – Straight Outta Crop Town. That’s top work. A proper reveal for the game is pencilled in for Gamescom but here’s a teaser trailer in the meantime:
