Nine developers awarded grants for 2014, but future of the scheme is unclear

Nordic Game Program funding support set to end this year

LittleBigPlanet Vita developer Tarsier Studios was among nine developers to receive grants from what could be the last round of funding from the Nordic Game Program.

The development support scheme has been running since 2006. It was initially planned to run until 2011, but was then extended for a few more years.

It is currently unclear if the intiative will continue past this year. Develop has reached out for comment on the matter.

Recipients for this year’s funding scheme include Danish outfit Folkenberg Aps, Icelandic developer Licorice ehf and Swedish studios Visiontrick Media AB and Tarsier.

The game companies beat a record number of 175 firms to be awarded the grants, up 16 per cent on the previous year.
