Nordic Games acquires DreamCatcher’s product range

Popular PC shooting series Painkiller is now part of the Nordic Games IP stable following its acquisition of all product and brand rights from Ontario-based DreamCatcher.

DreamCatcher will join JoWood and The Adventure Company in becoming one of Nordic’s publishing labels. The firm intends to re-launch as many of the back-catalogue properties as it can.

Canadian outfit DreamCatcher filed for bankruptcy earlier this year following its parent company JoWood’s insolvency.

We are very happy that we were able to close the deal according to our internal schedule,” Nordic Games Holding AB CEO Lars Wingefors stated.

After the incorporation of the JoWooD and The Adventure Company publishing label, DreamCatcher is the third and last to follow for the time being. Our approach is to assess the performance of DreamCatcher’s portfolio through back-catalogue sales, and as a consequence develop sequels to its bestselling brands and licenses, just as we did with our other two publishing labels.”
