In an effort to show virtual reality isn’t just for playing games, Oculus has appointed the former SVP of video streaming platform Hulu to head up its video division.
Eugene Wei also held positions at Amazon and social aggregation app Flipboard, spending more than seven years at the former retail giant.
He joins the Facebook-owned VR flagbearer as head of video, leading a team that will build content specifically designed for VR.
The arm will focus on working with third-party creators, including US sports star LeBron James, who produce 360-degree video. Oculus also releases its own content through its Oculus Story Studio branch.
