Time and tickets running out if you want to attend next week's indie conference

One week to go until Launch Conference 2013

Next week sees the return of Launch: Future Gaming and Digital Conference, the indie developer conference hosted by Innovation Birmingham.

The organisers expect nearly 300 people to attend this year’s two-day event, which will be held at the Innovation Birmingham Campus.

The event will run from Thursday, November 21st to Friday, November 22nd, and each day will have its own theme.

Thursday will focus on launching a product and a business, with speakers discussing studio management, funding options and how to develop your audience.

Friday, meanwhile, will focus on how developers can launch their career – a first for Launch Conference. This will explore the different paths into games development, what roles such as programmer and artist entail, and how to create that winning CV and portfolio.

Speakers include Craig Duncan, Head of Microsoft Rare Studios, Alex Zoro, Head of Development and Technology at Pixel Toys, Simon Barratt, Founder of Four Door Lemon, Ella Romanos, CEO of Remode Studios, Gary Dunn, VP of Franchise Business at Codemasters and Dr Jo Twist, CEO of UKIE – plus representatives of Epic Games, Unity, Crytek and more.

"The Launch Conference and events programme us one of the largest activities of its kind for the UK’s digital gaming industry," said Pia Pearson, digital marketing manager and head of Launch at the Innovation Birmingham Campus.

"The UK games industry is the second largest in the world after the US, and the West Midlands is home to 25 per cent of the country’s total games workforce. This region has become a hub for games and digital media, with Innovation Birmingham Campus’ Faraday Wharf building being home to 18 games studios."

Exhibition space has sold out, but there are limited tickets left. To find out more and register for the conference, head over to www.launchconference.co.uk.
