Over 9m people played Star Wars Battlefront beta

EA has revealed that more than 9 million gamers tried the beta for the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront.

Taking to EA’s Star Wars blog, senior producer Sigurlina Ingvarsdottir announced the impressive figures, which represent a record for the single largest beta in EA’s history.

The beta was announced in April. It launched on October 8th, and closed at 4pm today (Tuesday, October 13th).

Ever since we revealed Star Wars Battlefront back in April, we knew the beta would be a huge test for our game,” Ingvarsdottir said.

After all, the beta has been one of the most talked about topics around the game over the last six months, and it was exciting (and a little nerve racking if I’m being completely honest) to open it up to the world.

And like Han Solo at the end of A New Hope, we’re glad you showed up. Even more importantly than just showing up, you’ve been spending a lot of time playing, having a great time and leaving us some invaluable feedback, as we continue to tune and balance the game until launch.”

Star Wars Battlefront launches for PS4 and Xbox on November 19th. Yesterday, EA announced a 40 Season Pass for the upcoming sci-fi shooter.
