Persona 5 falls to second place in Japan

The latest entry in Atlus’ Persona RPG series has fallen to the No.2 spot in Japan according to date provided by Famitsu.

The PS4 SKU of the release – last week’s top dog – saw a sales decrease of 85 per cent week-on-week. The PS3 version, which debuted at No.2 last week, falls to sixth place with an 81 per cent sales decline.

This week’s new Japanese No.1 is the Vita version of Utawarerumono: Futari no Hakuoro from Aqua Plus which shifted 46,337 copies. The PlayStation 4 edition debuted at No.3, selling 35,769 copies.

Yo-Kai Watch 3 rises one place to No.4 with sales increasing 16 per cent week-on-week.

PlayStation 4 was the best-selling hardware last week, but sales in fact fell 50 per cent week-on-week following the PS4 launches of Persona 5 and PES 2017.

New 3DS LL was the second best-performing console, with sales of 13,864. These rose one per cent week-on-week.
