Former Ubisoft, Yager and Eutechnyx programmers join North East studio

Pitbull bolsters dev team with ten new hires

Sunderland–based developer Pitbull Studio has further expanded its development team with ten new hires.

The wave of new recruits include new senior programmers Martin Zielinski, who previously worked as lead console programmer for Spec Ops: The Line, ex-Eutechnyx programmer Martin Wilson and former Ubisoft Reflections lead game programmer Thomas Sarkanen.

Other hires include new lead rendering programmer Graeme Thornton, senior programmers Steve Robb and Allan Bentham, Simon McGuirk in QA, PHP developer Richard Allsopp, Natalia Troughton in external marketing and Emma Phillips as personal assistant.

The news comes after Pitbull announced in September last year it was looking to hire up to 20 staff to bring the studio’s total headcount to 40 as part of its work on Unreal Engine 4.

“We’re cementing our status as the UK’s leading Unreal Engine developer with this further expansion to our team,” said Pitbull MD Robert Troughton.

“Every single one of these hires has a wealth of experience in their own area.”
