Monetisation solutions firmâ??s Ultimate Pay service applied to social network games

PlaySpan chosen for Facebook Credits expansion

Facebook has chosen PlaySpan’s Ultimate Pay monetisation solutions as a new method of purchasing Facebook Credits for use in its social games.

The deal will see around 20 new payment methods made available to Facebook’s social game users around the world, with Facebook promising new services to be rolled out over the coming months.

The new payment options will be made available to Facebook games developers in existing interfaces and based on the country in which they are located. Facebook has said that it hopes to open up international business for all developers on its platform.

“We’re very excited. This should open up a lot of audiences to our Facebook credits developers," said manager of product marketing for Facebook Credits and Games Deborah Liu, who announced the partnership at the Virtual Goods Summit in San Francisco.

PlaySpan CEO Karl Mehta said he was very excited with the deal, and impressed with the Facebook Credits program.

“PlaySpan has been an evangelist of the free-to-play and microtranscation movement for the last several years, and we believe that the Facebook Credits platform will be the catalyst that will take it mainstream,” he concluded.
