PlayStation announces Horizon Zero Dawn PS4 bundle for Europe

Sony is releasing a Horizon Zero Dawn PlayStation 4 bundle in Europe to celebrate the game’s launch this March, the company has announced on its PlayStation Blog.

The 1TB bundle, which features the new, slimline console, will arrive in shops on March 1st. It comes with a copy of the game, a Dualshock 4 controller as well as a free, three-month subscription to PlayStation Plus.

UK retailers have yet to announce whether they’ll be stocking the Horizon Zero Dawn PS4 bundle, but we’ll update this article as soon as we get more concrete information. The final price of the bundle is also currently unknown.

Bundling the game with the regular PlayStation 4 might seem like an odd choice when Horizon Zero Dawn has been very much at the forefront of Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro marketing campaigns, but with still over a month to go before the game’s launch, it’s possible we might yet see a PS4 Pro bundle appear in the not too distant future.

Ever since Sony announced the PS4 Pro at its New York event last September, Horizon Zero Dawn has been the poster child for its new machine. Developer Guerrilla Games has shown the game on multiple occasions running at an upscaled 4K resolution, and it’s also been keen to show how the console’s extra horsepower and high dynamic range (HDR) support will enhance the title’s graphical fidelity and overall lushness of the world and its environments.

Still, with Horizon Zero Dawn being one of the big PS4 exclusives this year, bundling the game with a regular PS4 console will no doubt prove the easiest and most cost-effective way to get the game in players’ hands.

Horizon Zero Dawn is set to launch on PS4 on March 1st in the UK, and you can read all about the game here in our dedicated news hub.
