PlayStation Flash sale supports gaming’s females

It’s hard to interpret Sony’s most recent PSN flash sale as anything other than a shout of support for the women of the games industry.

A number of games and films featuring females are currently on sale on Sony’s service, the timing of which presumes that the company intends it to be a criticism of the strategic abuse of industry figures such as Zoe Quinn, Anita Sarkeesian and Brianna Wu.

Why the company can’t comment directly remains a mystery.

Titles on offer include Remember Me, Bayonetta, Mirror’s Edge, Beyond Good & Evil, Giana Sisters, Fat Princess and Portal 2. Films include Kill Bill, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Catwoman, La Femme Nikita, Underworld and Resident Evil.

The deals kicked off on Friday and will run until this evening.
