Prison Architect earns $19m in Early Access

Introversion has revealed its popular in-development sim Prison Architect has made $19m in sales ahead of its official release.

Founding director Mark Morris toldEurogamerthe game has sold 1.25m units as of September 26th– with official launch scheduled for today, October 6th.

Introversion initially put an early alpha version of Prison Architect on sale in September 2012. Access could be had for $30, with crowdfunding-style reward tiers that stretched up to $1,000. The game earned $100,000 in its first three days.

The success helped Introversion climb back from near-bankruptcy. The studio has brought back multiple former staff members in full-time capacity, and the company’s outlook appears very, very healthy” moving forward.
