Capcom’s new survival horror game has infected the Japanese Top Ten and gone straight to the top. That’s according to market data supplied by Famitsu, which indicates that the PS4 version of Resident Evil 7 went to No.1, selling 231,188 units in its first week on sale.
The title charted ahead of Pokmon Sun and Moon, which came in at second place selling a combined 23,271 copies. Meanwhile, 3DS exclusive Poochy and Yoshi’s Woolly World charted at No.3, with 20,141 copies sold. These were two of
Resident Evil 7 wasn’t the only new title to chart in the Top Ten this week. Vita-exclusive Uta no Prince-sama: Repeat Love charted in third place, with 17,543 copies sold.
PlayStation 4 was the best-selling hardware of the week, with sales rising 24 per cent with Resident Evil’s launch, while New 3DS LL sales come in at second place with sales more or less flat week-on-week.
