The recently inaugurated EA team in Chicago is planning to significantly grow its work force for next-gen games development.

Ramp up begins for EA Chicago

Best known so far for its work on the Fight Night series of games, EA Chicago is now also expanding its slate to include the new Def Jam game, Icon, for PS3/360, plus two other next-gen games including a licence-based title and another of EA’s new IP projects, a fighting title.

The team currently sits at 150-strong, and is already Electronic Arts’ fastest growing studio – but needs up to 100 more bodies, presumably to aid the development of the above games.

"We are pushing next generation development and technology to the limits and looking for the best talent to help us to create innovative games," said Kudo Tsunoda, VP&GM, EA Chicago. "We are in a great location downtown in a unique building that gives us access and visibility to the best resources and creative minds of this thriving city."
