TJ Fixman moving to screenwriting, but says he will not 'abandon' games

Ratchet & Clank writer leaves Insomniac for film business

Ratchet & Clank scribe TJ Fixman is leaving his post as Insomniac’s senior writer to take on work in the film and television industry.

In a blog post on his personal website he explained that he will still be involved with the animated space saga’s move to the silver screen, which is set to arrive in 2015.

“My relationship with Insomniac and the Ratchet & Clank franchise will continue. As a producer and writer on the movie, I will still be helping to shepherd Ratchet & Clank into the feature world. I’ve also made sure the North Carolina studio has everything they need to finish Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus, a truly awesome game I hope you all love,” he wrote.

"My relationship with Insomniac will continue, as will my involvement with the video game industry. How it will all coalesce is something I’ll work out along the way, but I could never abandon the industry that has given me so much.”

Fixman joined Insomniac in late 2006, and was one the core members behind the story for the Ratchet & Clank Future series on PS3.

During his time, he worked on Ratchet & Clank: Q-Force, Overstrike, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, Resistance 2, Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty and Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.
