Now that all the blockbuster Q4 titles are out, the week was quiet at retail in terms of new entries, with Red Dead Redemption 2 taking this opportunity to come back at the top spot in the charts. Sales for the title increased 19 per cent week-on-week, with 61 per cent of the copies shifted going to PS4.
Following price cuts, FIFA charted at No.2 following a 30 per cent increase in sales week-on-week. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 also had a significant price drop and saw its sales rise an impressive 175 per cent, landing at No.3 in the charts.
Most of the titles in the Top Ten (and further down the charts) had a good week, including Spyro Reignited Trilogy (+65 per cent sales week-on-week), Forza Horizon 4 (+135 per cent), Spider-Man (+68 per cent) and Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, which re-entered the Top Ten at No.10 with a 63 per cent increase in sales week-on-week.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate, which debuted at No.1 the previous week, fell to No.4 with sales decreasing 52 per cent week-on-week, which is standard for a second week on shelves. Similarly, Just Cause 4, having debuted at No.6 the week before, charted at No.13 with sales only dropping 47 per cent week-on-week.
There wasn’t any new entry in the charts this week but the market was still up 13 per cent in units and one per cent in value week-in-week as we enter the final run up to Christmas. However, unit sales were down 7.5 per cent year-on-year, while the market value was down 3.1 per cent.
