Red Dead Redemption 2 takes another UK No.1

Another quiet week at retail, another No.1 for Red Dead Redemption 2. In what is now the new normal, Red Dead Redemption 2 is back at the top of the UK physical charts as very few titles released last week. Sales for Rockstar’s hit were up 14 per cent week-on-week.

FIFA 19 also took advantage of this quiet week, gaining two spots to No.2 following a six per cent increase in sales week-on-week.

Meanwhile, last week’s No.1 , Kingdom Hearts III, dropped to No.3 with a 87 per cent decrease in sales week-on-week. Having launched on January 25th, Kingdom Hearts III had shipped 5m units as of February 5th, becoming the fastest-selling entry in the franchise’s history.

Resident Evil 2 managed to stay in the Top Five despite a 67 per cent drop in sales week-on-week, falling from No.2 to No.4.

Nintendo continued to occupy most of the rest of the Top Ten, with New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe remaining respectively at No.6 and No.7, while Super Smash Bros Ultimate dropped one spot to No.9.

The only new entry in the charts was Milestone’s Monster Energy Supercross 2, which debuted at No.34. Things should get exciting again next week, as this Friday will see the launch of Microsoft’s Crackdown 3, Ubisoft’s Far Cry New Dawn, Bandai Namco’s Jump Force and Deep Silver’s Metro Exodus. Our bet is on Far Cry New Dawn making it to No.1, followed by Metro Exodus. To keep an eye on what’s releasing when, don’t forget to take a look at our release schedule, updated weekly.
