An anonymous source has reported that mobile outfit Glu Mobile will shutter its Portland studio for good at the end of the month, and he already laid off 25 people.
This email was sent to GamaSutra. The Portland studio had been working on a mobile F2P social game starring a celebrity, a tactic that Glu used with some success in 2014’s Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.
They’d been developing the game there for two years. It’s unsure whether or not it’ll be picked up by another Glu studio or written off.
In January, Glu suggested it’d be happy to make over 100 layoffs and close down two studios as they looked to streamline the mobile giant’s game development operations.
