Retail leak suggests February launch for New 3DS in US

The New 3DS may be released in under a month, if leaked promotional material is correct.

A poster shared on Neogaf dates the New 3DS XL for February 13th in the US. Kotaku has word from a number of GameStop sources that the poster is real and that the chain will begin taking reservations for the hardware tomorrow.

It’s perhaps no coincidence that there’s a Nintendo Direct scheduled for 2pm this afternoon. All signs point to a release date announcement for the console in North America, at least, and perhaps Europe.

A UK launch certainly seems to be imminent following Nintendo’s recent move to offer some Club Nintendo members the chance to buy the machine last week for 180.

There’s also the fact that stock of the current 3DS in the UK certainly seems thin on the ground, with many models now widely unavailable online.
