Ubisoft have announced Richard Blenkinsop as the new managing director of internal studio Reflections, and also FreeStyleGames, a new Ubisoft studio, located in Leamington Spa.
The news broke in a post on the Ubisoft blog post, which reveals that former MD Pauling Langourieux left the role in favour of a more "hands-on" position within the studio, leaving Blenkinsop to step up to the top role. He’s been at Ubisoft since 2012, with credits on both The Crew and Tom Clancy’s The Division. He’s held the position of associate managing director fo the studio since 2014.
Richard’s role, in addition to running Reflections, will be as managing director of FreeStyleGames, the studio best known for their work on the DJ Hero series and last year’s Guitar Hero Live under Activision. The Studio will be renaming itself as Ubisoft Leamington, and will be working in "close collaboration with Reflections and Ubisoft’s other international studios to develop AAA games."
Talking of the new addition to Ubisoft, Blenkinsop said: “we’re thrilled to have their expertise within the group, and the team at Reflections are looking forward to creating great things together!”
