The Games Media Awards return on October 15th, naming the best of the best in UK games media.
Sega has signed up as sponsor for the Rising Star award, which acknowledges the hard efforts of newer games writers in the last 36 months.
Over 250 people are expected to attend the GMAs this year, 150+ of them will hail from mainstream publications, national press, specialist magazines and websites, plus video and beyond.

Rising Star is one of 10 awards handed out at the ceremony, which takes place at the Bloomsbury Ballroom in central London.
As part of an improved and updated awards roster, this year there nods for specialised work in news, features and games critiques, plus work on radio and video, and overall team prizes for online and print outlets.
There are two special awards: Gamers’ Choice is voted for consumers while Journalists’ Journalist is voted for on the night by the attendant media.
Judging for each award is currently underway, with the shortlists of finalists announced later this week.
