SHAREfactory and digital pre-loads hitting PS4 in next update

Sony has revealed more details of its next firmware update for PS4.

The 1.70 update will introduce something called SHAREfactory, a video editor app that allows for the combining of clips and the addition of effects, text, stickers, custom music and audio, as well as video commentary.

Gameplay increments will also become customisable and, as previously promised, it will also be possible to turn off HDCP for direct HDMI video capture. The results of all gameplay recordings can then be exported to a USB stick.

Also coming is the ability to pre-load PSN digital purchases ahead of release several days prior to release”. Users can also opt to have these downloads trigger automatically as soon as available.

PS3 pre-loads have been possible for select titles in Europe for a while but this will be the fist time they have been made available on PS4, and in the US.

Other 1.70 features will be revealed in time.
