Some staff at the now SOE-owned Sigil have been left without jobs following the acquisition.

Sigil staff let go

Reports on the web at various sites say that a number of staff at the studio making Vanguard and acquired officially by publisher Sony Online Entertainment earlier this week have been let go – and now CEO of the studio Brad McQuaid has apologised for their treatment.

McQuaid was absent when a group of employees were convened and told their employment was terminated.

"I’m really sorry it went down that way," he said in an interview at site F13.net. "I can promise you that I and everybody in upper management did everything they possibly could to avoid this happening. Sigil was everything to us. It was our dream."

He added: "As CEO, I take full responsibility and the buck stops here. I did everything I could and so did everybody else to make it work. But it didn’t."
