SONY: The Last Guardian still alive, opens PlayStation’s conference

PlayStation opened its E3 media briefing with the news that The Last Guardian is indeed still in development, and is coming to PlayStation 4.

Directed by Ico lead developer Fumito Ueda, the puzzle game is much the same as the last time we saw it – a little boy is exploring a huge old ruin joined by his beast friend – a bird, cat, dog… creature.

It is set for a 2016 release.

The Last Guardian was first shown by Sony in 2009, but disappeared off the radar shortly afterwards. Since, fans of Team Ico’s work have been clambering for the title to appear. Indeed, rumours have pointed to the game’s appearance at many gaming events, including E3 and PlayStation’s own Experience event last December.
