SouthPeak sales dip 54%

SouthPeak Interactive reported a drop in sales and net loss in its Q1 financials ending September 30th. Quarterly sales dropped to $8.4 million, a reduction from $18.4 million in a like-for-like period. However, losses also fell for SouthPeak, with net loss at $1.6 million from last year’s $3.4 million.

Meanwhile the number of videogames sold slipped to 530,000 units, a drop of 171,000 year-on-year. Net revenue per game sold fell to $15.83 from $26.10 – a drop of 39 per cent.

SouthPeak said that the year-on-year comparison was a tough one, as in the same quarter in 2007 the firm launched RPG Two Worlds on Xbox 360. Two Worlds is one of the publisher’s biggest hits, spending four weeks in the Xbox 360 Top Ten last September.
