Star Wars Battlefront will feel the Force in public next month

EA’s long-awaited Star Wars Battlefront will finally be demonstrated to the public for the first time next month.

Having previously promised more information this spring, the publisher has said that DICE’s title will feature at the Stars Wars Celebration event in California kicking off on April 16th.

We could not think of a better or more appropriate place to debut the game officially for the first time than the premier event that celebrates the Star Wars universe and the legions of fans who have fallen in love with it,” the company said.

We have a lot of exciting news to share with you about all the EA Star Wars games we are working on in partnership with Lucasfilm.”

The game was announced at E3 in 2013. Developer DICE reportedly begged” EA for the chance to make a Star Wars Battlefield spin-off shortly after EA acquired the video game license from Disney. DICE general manager Karl-Magnus Troedsson famously told MCV that the studio was going to build the best Star Wars game ever created” and that the franchise deserves it".

The game, which will be canon, is expected to release around the same time (or more likely a little before) as Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens arrives at cinemas on December 18th.
