Steam concurrent users reach 7m over holiday weekend

Steam saw record numbers for concurrent users this past weekend, at one point boasting more than 7m accounts online simultaneously.

VG247 reports that Valve’s digital platform surpassed the milestone yesterday morning, peaking at 7,190,578 concurrent users.

Valve’s Dota 2 drew a peak of 542,906 concurrent users, making it far and away the most popular product on the distribution platform.

The second most popular title, Valve’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, hit 93,905 at its peak over the weekend.

Civilization V, Skyrim, and Football Manager 2013 also showed significant numbers for the period, which notably coincided with Steam’s Autumn Sale promotion.

Steam originally exceeded the 6m mark for concurrent users late last year.
