Street Fighter V is exclusive to PS4 and PC

Capcom has confirmed that it is working on Street Fighter V – but that’s not all.

A teaser for the game, which you can see below, also confirms that the game will be exclusive to PS4 and PC and will not release on Xbox platforms.

The publisher hasn’t announced details regarding the nature of the exclusivity, such as if it is a lifetime deal or is time-limited. Nor has it announced a release date.

Microsoft kicked off quite the storm when unveiling Rise of the Tomb Raider as an Xbox exclusive in the summer, although it was subsequently confirmed that the deal is only for a limited period.

PlayStation Europe boss Jim Ryan said in the summer said Sony didn’t seek third party exclusives, as the combination of its own first party developer network and PS4’s market-leading position are strong enough propositions as it is.

Do we feel the need to go out and buy outright exclusivity? Probably not.

I think the partnership we have with Activision on Destiny is a good example of where it makes really good sense for them, it makes good sense for us and it benefits our consumers. When you complement those two things we think that gives us a pretty complete position in the market.”

UPDATE: The trailer has now been pulled. Presumably it was intended for either the PlayStation Experience or The Game Awards.
