Submissions open for 2016 Unity Awards

Developers building their game using Unity can now enter their project for the engine’s eponymous annual awards show.

The Unity Awards will take place on November 1st at the Hollywood Lowes Hotel on the first night of the Unite LA event, with finalists receiving two passes to the show.

Any Unity-made game released from August 1st 2015 to September 30th of this year is eligible for entry, except those previously nominated. Early access games that remain ‘unfinished’ before September 30th do not count.

Six finalists will be picked for the categories, before voting is opened up to decide a winner, with the community and Unity itself comprising 50 per cent of the final tally each.

Unity Awards categories this year include the following:

  • Best 3D Visuals
  • Best 2D Visuals 
  • Best Student Project 
  • Asset Store Award 
  • Best VizSim Project 
  • Best Non-game Project
  • Best Desktop/Console Game 
  • Best Mobile Game 
  • Best VR Game 
  • Best VR Experience 
  • Golden Cube (For the best overall game)
